Levent Çanakçılı, Akiş REIT General Manager, stated, “After two challenging years, the commercial real estate and retail sector in which we operate regained its former dynamism in 2022, with shopping volumes gaining momentum day by day. In 2022, as we moved further away from the lingering effects of the pandemic, we have not only caught up with but also surpassed the levels of occupancy and cost management dynamics achieved in 2019. Thanks to the strong operational performance in our shopping malls with high occupancy rates, we were able to increase our consolidated revenues by approximately 112 percent on an annual basis, while also managing to grow our assets by 79 percent”.
