Akiş REIT has signed an agreement for its first investment in Germany through Akiş Global Real Estate Investment Inc.— a subsidiary established as part of its international growth strategy. The company has become a partner in a residential development project of more than 150 units in Berlin-Lichtenberg, together with Edge, one of Europe’s leading real estate development and investment companies.
Akiş REIT, the real estate subsidiary of Akkök Holding, has taken a significant step in its international expansion strategy. The company has signed an overseas investment agreement by partnering in a residential development project which is planned to comprise more than 150 housing units in Berlin, Germany.
The first step for the investment was taken through Akiş Global Real Estate Investment Inc., a subsidiary established to focus on international real estate investments and opportunities. Akiş Global’s project partner has been announced as Edge, a Netherlands-based company known for its international experience in developing sustainable, innovative, and people-centered living spaces and its significant projects across Europe. As part of the transaction, Akiş Global participated in the capital increase of the company that was formed for project development, acquiring a 50% ownership stake in the company. This collaboration also stands out as a strong strategic partnership that combines the capital power and international vision of Akiş REIT with the project development expertise, local market knowledge and implementation capabilities of Edge.
The project will be developed in Berlin-Lichtenberg next to one of the city’s busiest metro stations and adjacent to one of Germany’s largest universities of applied sciences. Benefiting from strong transportation links and a central location, the development aims to help address the growing demand for housing in Berlin.
With a total equity requirement of €14.7 million, the project is expected to contribute to Berlin’s housing supply while supporting the growth of the Lichtenberg´s district & attractiveness. The project will offer an environmentally responsible model of urban development in alignment with Berlin’s sustainable urbanization goals.
Construction is planned to begin in 2027, with completion anticipated in 2029.
