Founded under the title Akiş Gayrimenkul Yatırımı A.Ş. in 2005, Akiş became a Real Estate Investment Trust on May 18, 2012 upon application to the Capital Markets Board, and gained its current form by merging with Saf GYO in 2017. Akiş REIT provides investors with the opportunity to invest in different areas of real estate with a single company stock, thanks to its wide and rich portfolio structure with a focus on commercial real estate.

It started to be traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange on January 9, 2013.

The Company has a registered capital ceiling of TRY 2,000,000,000,000.00 (two billion Turkish Liras) in accordance with the provisions of the Capital Markets Law and its capital is divided into 2,000,000,000,000 (two billion) shares with a nominal value of TRY 1.00 each. The issued and fully paid-in capital of the Company amounts to TRY 805,000,000.00 (eight hundred and five million Turkish Lira), of which TRY 36,353,239.81 consists of registered (A) Group shares and TRY 768,646,760.19 consists of bearer (B) Group shares. This capital is divided into 805,000,000 shares with a nominal value of TRY 1.00. The transfer of registered shares cannot be restricted. Group A shares have nomination privilege in the election of Board Members. Five members of the Board of Directors are elected by the General Assembly from among the candidates nominated by Group A shareholders by majority of votes.

Akiş REIT’s portfolio includes Akasya Shopping Mall, Akbatı Shopping Mall, Erenköy Apartment and land stocks. Aligning with the mission of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), investments primarily focus on assets that generate rental income.

Akiş REIT aims to provide consistent dividends to its shareholders and it has distributed dividends in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. However, no dividends were distributed in 2014 due to investment decisions taken in 2014.

As a result of the Corporate Governance Rating activities carried out by Saha Kurumsal Yönetim ve Kredi Derecelendirme Hizmetleri A.Ş., Akiş REIT’s Corporate Governance Rating score, which was 94.39 out of 100 in 2016, 94.90 in 2017, 95.36 in 2018, 96.19 in 2019, 96.29 in 2020, 96.33 in 2021, 96.35 in 2022, increased to 96.37 in 2023.
